Planning Your Private Wine Tour

We have listed a few pointers that can help when planning your private wine tour. You can also signup for our Zbest Newsletter and receive a free  Winery Tour Checklist  to assist with planning everything from the wineries you are interested in visiting all the way down to calculating the travel time needed.

STEP 1: CHOOSE THE WINERIES YOU WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

With Washington D.C. and Maryland combined, there are numerous wineries to choose from. To assist with curating your top three to five locations, use the links or map below.

STEP 2: DETAIL THE SIZE OF YOUR GROUP

Make sure to take note of how many people will be joining the tour. The transportation needed for 3 people compared to 15 will be different, and we want to make sure that we provide the correct size and number of vehicles for your tour. To check out which vehicle(s) you would like for your tour, view our fleet.

For those planning larger tours, keep in mind that some wineries are limited to the guests they can host. Make sure to call ahead to ensure each winery can accommodate your group before making it an official stop on your tour.

STEP 3: PLAN ADDITIONAL STOPS

If your group is interested in stopping at a restaurant or boutique during the tour, make sure that it’s feasible with the schedule. This includes making it to the different wineries in time, and ensuring it’s aligned with the transportation time frame you desire. To help calculate the time, signup for our Zbest Newsletter and receive a free Winery Tour Checklist and use the travel time calculator.

STEP 4: CALCULATE THE TIME YOU NEED

The number of wineries you would like to visit matched with travel time contribute to the cost of transportation. If you have a set amount of time you would like your tour to be (example: 5 hours), let us know and we’ll detail the best methods to accommodate your tour.
